You Have What It Takes

It’s very easy for us to look at what others have and compare it to what we don’t have. We say things like “If I only had this, then I could do that.” “I don’t have what it takes.” “I can’t do that because I don’t have this.”

I believe in order to do what God has purposed for us to do, it’s not a matter of what we don’t have but it’s about realizing what we do have. Limitation isn’t about lack of resources, it’s about lack of recognition. If we continue to focus on what is holding us back, we will fail to recognize that what we need is already in our possession.

God to Moses “I want you to deliver my people.” Moses to God “How do think I’m going to do that?” God to Moses “What is that in your hand?”

Jesus to the disciples “You feed the people.” The disciples to Jesus “How you suppose we do that, Lord?” Jesus to the disciples “What do you have?”

You see. We think we are missing something we need in order to accomplish the task God has set before us, but what we are missing is the recognition to realize what we already have is everything that we need. It’s not about trying to posses something, it’s about recognizing what you need is already in your possession.

The next time you walk into a situation, instead of looking for what is missing, focus on what is already there. Moses didn’t have to look elsewhere to get what he needed to deliver God’s people. What he needed was already in his hand. The disciples didn’t need to look outside of the crowd to find what they needed. What they needed was already in the crowd. You don’t need to look outward to find what you need in order to accomplish your purpose. You already have what it takes.
