Tragedy into Triumph

You have probably seen in the news the horrific story of an Indianapolis pastor’s wife being tragically killed in a home invasion. Many media outlets have covered this story locally in Indianapolis and even nationally throughout the U.S. The following is a link to Fox Carolina’s coverage of this tragedy.

The pastor, Davey Blackburn, is a personal friend of mine. So this news hit home with me. You don’t notice things that happen everyday in the news until it touches you personally.

I can’t even imagine and I’m not even going to pretend that I know what my friend is going through right now. I wouldn’t even wish this on my worst enemy. I’m not sure what can be said or done, if there is anything, to help. But I do know my friend needs all the prayers, support, and help he can get right now.

With that said, I am begging and pleading with you to do what you can to help my friend through this horrific time in his life. If you can help him out financially, please click the link to Fox Carolina’s coverage, scroll all the way down to the end of the story, and click on the link to the “Go Fund Me” page where you can donate some money. If you can’t do that, then I ask that you would hold him and his family up in prayer. I believe if we can collectively rally behind my friend and do either one or both of the things I’ve mentioned, we can help turn this tragedy into triumph. Thank you for your prayers and support of my friend. Believe me your efforts in this are greatly appreciated.
