God Moment

What if you saw a woman, who was pregnant, get down on her knees and ask for the baby inside of her to spend time with her. What would you think? I know what I would think. I would think the woman was crazy and that she probably needs to get checked into a hospital or psych ward.

When it comes to spending time with God, we tend to do the same thing. We designate time where we meet with God. We refer to certain instances in our lives as “God Moments.” How can an infinite being who has no beginning or end, who exists outside of time, who created time be limited to certain instances we refer to as moments?

Isn’t that crazy? Because of Jesus, God is always with us. Jesus said in Matthew 28 that He is with us always and that He will never leaves us or forsake us. We don’t have to set aside time to spend with God, He is constantly with us. He lives inside of us. As the song by the David Crowder Band “Like a Lion” says “Our God is not dead. He is surely alive. And He is living on the inside. Roaring like a lion.” He is with us when we go to work. He is with us when we are at school. He is with us when we are cooking dinner. He is with us no matter what we are doing or where we are going.

You see God doesn’t want to be penciled into your schedule. He doesn’t want to be a reminder on your calendar. He wants to be with you when you’re laughing. He wants to be with you when you’re crying. He wants to be with you in the boardroom. He wants to be with you in the classroom. You see every moment in you’re life can be a “God Moment.” You just need to look for God in the moment. Because He is there, you just have to open your eyes.
